107th Running of the Indy 500 (Sunday)
"The Greatest Spectacle in Sports" as it's often referred to is held annually over Memorial Day Weekend. This is the most prestigious event of the IndyCar calendar that regularly sees attendance figures that reach 300,000 people. The total purse for this event exceeds $13 million with the winner driving home with $2.5 million!
Miller Lite Carb Day (Friday)
Carb Day is observed on the last Friday before the Indy 500. Its name comes from the word "carburetion". It is the final practice session for race teams before the big day and originally the day teams would tune their carburetors or chassis to make sure the cars are fit for the race. Although no carburetors have been used by qualified vehicles since 1963, the name has stuck. Carb Day is now synonymous with a celebration to kick off the greatest weekend in racing!

One of the original events produced by the 500 Festival, the AES 500 Festival Parade has grown to be one of the signature parades held in the United States each year. This event has taken place every year since 1957 and is held on Saturday.
